Why We Like It

An absolutely fantastic boutique property that really raises itself to the top of the Cape Town accommodation game with its attention to detail and brilliant staff, who give guests the sense that they are getting the exclusive, insider tour of the Mother City.

Fodor's Expert Review

A beautiful garden entrance leads you into this stylish and luxurious boutique guesthouse that feels like a little piece of heaven. There are extra touches galore and the staff are exceptional. The eight-room hotel's location in the exclusive Higgovale area above the Gardens neighborhood means that the views of Table Mountain from the garden (and most room terraces) are lovely when the weather is clear.

Tip Incredible concierge service from on-site management means everything will be arranged, from dinner reservations at hard-to-book restaurants to tips on insider city events such as small gallery openings and the like.

Room

Each lovely, spacious suite comes equipped with its own private terrace as well an iPod docking station, MacBook Air for your use, and beach-ready bag—a nice touch if you've left these essentials at home. King-size beds are outfitted in gorgeous white linens. The hotel can also lend a GoPro camera, cell phone with a local number, bicycles, and yoga mats—all complimentary.

You Should Know In line with many of Cape Town's best boutique properties, the hotel's location at the foot of Table Mountain means that they can feel a little far away from the action of the city center or beaches. However, that retreat-vibe is often what guests are looking for - and it's a short drive to most attractions.

What's Nearby

Getting Around

The hotel is an easy drive from Cape Town's sights, but it is in a quiet neighborhood--which is either an upside or a downside depending on your opinion. It's walking distance to trendy Kloof Street and the bars and restaurants there, but you might want to get a taxi in the evening.

Restaurants

Black Sheep (2-minute drive, 11-minute walk) is a cool, seasonal restaurant that's deservedly popular with locals and in-the-know tourists. Or El Burro Taqueria Kloof Nek (4-minute walk) is a hip Mexican joint.

Bars

Try Asoka (3-minute drive, 15-minute walk), a lovely Asian-fusion bar in a Victorian townhouse. Or Orphanage Cocktail Emporium (6-minute drive), serves some of the best mixes in town.
