Dolphin Inn
75 Beach Rd., Cape Town, Western Cape, 8005, South Africa, Cape Town, South AfricaWhy We Like It
A friendly, genuine B&B-style inn right on the seafront in wholesome Mouille Point, close to good restaurants and bars and an easy drive to most other sights. Plus it's incredibly reasonably priced given the sea views available in some rooms and over breakfast or drinks from the honesty bar.
Fodor's Expert Review
An excellent value-for-money location on Mouille Point's sought-after strip, this simple yellow inn's rooms are basic but neat and comfortable, a few even enjoying sea views. Close to the V&A Waterfront and across the street from a popular seafront promenade, the brightly decorated inn's lounge overlooks the ocean with comfy leather couches, and the owners Paul and Tania are friendly and helpful, dishing up great breakfasts at the same time as helpful tips and a cheery, hippie-ish welcome.
You Should Know Don't expect high-end luxury here: it's much more of a home, but a very comfortable one. Three rooms have air-conditioning, and the rest have fans and heaters. Specify what you're looking for when you book and the team will try their best to accommodate you.

Room
Rooms are not huge, but are reasonably sized, with a beachy vibe and some turquoise tones. Others are more neutral, but all feel very cozy, with some African touches in the decoration and style. There are lovely fluffy rugs.
Tip There is a suite with a balcony and self-catering, which is a good option for those who want a bit more freedom.
Bathroom
The cute, clean bathrooms have a turquoise theme too, with attractive mosaic showers.
Lobby
There's no lobby as such--more of a kitchen/lounge area for guests to arrive, eat breakfast, and relax in.
Dining
Breakfast involves a buffet and a cooked option, and is pretty decent.
Drinking
The pleasant lounge has an honesty bar for guests who want to peer out of its windows to the gorgeous sunset over the sea beyond. Keep an eye out for dolphins (the clue's in the name!) and whales too.
What's Nearby
Getting Around
Mouille Point is a safe area to walk in, and many Capetonians and visitors do just that, strolling, jogging and cycling up and down the seafront parade. The V&A Waterfront is walking distance away and the rest of the city is an easy drive. The City Bus runs right by the hotel to Camps Bay, too.
Restaurants
Lily's Restaurant (1-minute walk) is a relaxed all-day dining spot with sea views. Or try The Butcher Shop and Grill (4-minute walk) for brilliant steak (again, the clue's in the name).
