Maputo's most contemporary hotel, the Radisson Blu, ups the ante for fine modern lodging in this city. Its waterfront setting, just a short cab ride from the city center, is a plus, as is its convenience to shopping and restaurants (although construction disruption and noise in this rapidly developing area can be an issue). Rooms are streamlined, ultra-modern, and spotlessly clean, many with floor-to-ceiling windows and striking ocean views from terraces. For dining, the hotel's handsome Italian restaurant is in line with the city's better restaurants.
