If you need a clean, pleasant stop-over in Beira, en route to Gorongoza, then the Lunamar, just a couple of blocks from the sea, hits the spot. Expect a well-designed, well-equipped double bedroom with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a spacious bathroom. The rooftop restaurant serves excellent food. There's also a tasty pastry shop in the same complex. A covered outdoor pool is perfect for a refreshing dip. It’s not The Ritz, but it’s friendly and very comfortable.
