Restaurants

The Upper Galilee and the Golan's crisp, appetite-whetting air is an exquisite backdrop for some excellent restaurants. Fresh grilled Dan River trout, Middle Eastern fare prepared by Druze villagers, or home-style Jewish cooking in Tzfat are all regional treats. Excellent wines enhance any meal—be sure to ask for local boutique wines, as most restaurants carry at least a handful. In a few places (such as Tzfat), it can be hard to find a restaurant open on Shabbat (sundown Friday to sundown Saturday).
