Driving in Tel Aviv isn’t for the fainthearted; Israeli drivers are aggressive, and motorbikes weave in and out of traffic. Major highways lead in and out of Tel Aviv: Route 1 from Jerusalem, Route 4 from the northern coast, and Route 5 from the east. The city has started work on a light-rail system, causing some street closures that change frequently.
