Fodor's Expert Review Taizu
Part of the city's influx of Asian restaurants, the "Asia-terranean" kitchen of Taizu is a nod to the street food of India, China, Thailand, Vietnam, and Cambodia. The interior design is based on the five elements of Chinese philosophy: water, wood, fire, earth, and metal, each of which is also represented in the style of food. Visit in a group and share plates like the aromatic tandoori calamari served with a sour cream sauce, the rump steak with lemongrass and herbs, or the creative sesame-covered fish tartare, served in a cone to resemble ice cream. The buttery chicken and scallop dumplings will leave you licking the sauce on the plate. Temptingly sweet cocktails are a great way to start or end the meal; try the Green Tai made with Stoli vodka, sake, lychee cream, and green tea.
