Why We Like It

The Atlas brand has made a name for itself with comfortable, trendy properties that offer extra perks without an added price tag. Tal by the Beach has become a flagship of sorts for them, and for good reason; with a great location, comfortable and beautiful rooms and plenty of amenities, it's just what you need, and more.

Fodor's Expert Review

The newest Tel Aviv installment of the happy-go-lucky Atlas hotel chain offers style, charm and budget-friendly but amenity-packed accommodations just steps from one of Tel Aviv's most popular beaches. With a rooftop lounge, a popular afternoon happy hour, free bike rental and even an on-site gym and sauna, this hotel offers just about everything a savvy traveler could want, at a lower price range than most of the big-name beachfront hotels.

Room

Done up with modern decor and furnishings in shades of sage and sea blue, the rooms are geometric, comfortable and cleanly designed and pay homage to Tel Aviv's beachfront. Artwork in the room is photographs of the city itself, and light fixtures follow a geometric theme. There's also the option to book two rooms with connecting doors, or a room with a kitchenette.

You Should Know The hotel's proximity to the beach and a major street means it can be noisy, so if you're a light sleeper, request a room facing away from the street.

Bathroom

The geometric theme continues in the whitewashed bathroom, with a raised round sink basin and square toilet.

Lobby

The lobby is warm and inviting, with benches that pay homage to Tel Aviv's iconic "stone" boardwalk benches and half-dome light fixtures. There are bookshelves packed with books and modern, pastel-colored chairs to curl up in.

Tip There's a lively happy hour on the hotel rooftop from 5 to 7 pm, with snacks and wine and beer.

Gym

The small but tidy gym offers basic fitness equipment, and the hotel also offers free bicycle rental to those who want to pedal outdoors.

Dining

The on-site restaurant offers a simple but tasty buffet.

Drinking

There's a simple bar offering standard cocktails, wine and beer on site.

You Should Know The area around the hotel is packed with eating and drinking establishments, so for a good cocktail or bite to eat, you'll have better luck heading outside and checking out the range of options nearby.
