Fodor's Expert Review Guy
Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.
Stuffed vegetables are the calling card at this kosher eatery, whose name means "ravine" in Hebrew. The cook-matriarch Geula comes from a Tiberias family, but her Moroccan ancestry shines through in delicious dishes like eggplant stuffed with seasoned ground beef. There are good, if more conventional, Middle Eastern options, but go for the excellent soups, and try some kibbeh (a Kurdish-Iraqi specialty of seasoned ground meat and bulgur). Ask your waiter to recommend the tastiest treats, such as apricots or dates stuffed with rice. The restaurant faces the lake and is slightly set back from the sidewalk; keep your eyes open or you'll miss it. It gets busy at lunchtime but is quieter at dinner.
