Air Travel

Ben Gurion International Airport, the country's main gateway, is near Tel Aviv and is 105 km (65 miles) south of Haifa, about a 90-minute drive. A convenient sherut (shared taxi minibus) service to Haifa costs NIS 106, and runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For sherut service, call 04/866–2324. Private taxi service costs NIS 545 for two passengers with two suitcases, plus a charge for extra suitcases of approximately NIS 4 per bag.
