Fodor's Expert Review House of Druze Heritage

$$ Daliyat el Carmel and Isfiya Middle Eastern

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

Dine à la Druze on skewers of grilled lamb or steak and big, flat pita bread. Plenty of salads will be on your table, and you'll get a warm welcome from Fadal, the congenial owner. Baklava and Turkish coffee provide the finishing touches. The Druze are justly famous for their hospitality. This house formerly belonged to the British traveler and diplomat Laurence Oliphant. Order a tour in advance for NIS 20, and Fadal will explain the Druze way of life and demonstrate Druze farm implements, household objects, and handicrafts.
