Some Judean Hills wineries serve fancy meals along with their tastings, but these should be reserved in advance. Abu Gosh, on the way to Latrun, is known for its hummus and kebab restaurants. There are also some passable cafeterias west of Jerusalem and a handful of excellent restaurants set in the hills. An alternative is to take a packed lunch or have a picnic west of Jerusalem with wine and cheese. At the Dead Sea, it's always a good idea to make reservations in Ein Bokek restaurants, especially on Friday and Saturday night.
