Fodor's Expert Review Ein Gedi Public Beach

Ein Gedi Nature Reserve Beach

Editor's Note: This location is no longer in operation.

The somewhat rocky Ein Gedi Public Beach allows free, 24-hour access to the Dead Sea, including a campsite. Freshwater showers (absolutely essential) by the water's edge and basic changing facilities are NIS 2. There's also a snack bar and a gift shop. Don't leave valuables unguarded. Amenities: food and drink; lifeguards; parking; showers; toilets. Best for: sunrise; sunset; swimming.
