If you have any security concerns, the Tourist Police will be able to assist. They patrol resort and town centers. For minor health problems, if you are staying at a four- or five-star hotel, there should be a doctor on call. For more serious medical issues, the hospitals at Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and El Gouna offer reasonable facilities and English-speaking staff. The best medical facilities are in the capital, Cairo, which may mean an expensive ambulance ride from the coast to transfer you to a suitable facility.

There are hyperbaric chambers in al-Quseir, Dahab, El Gouna, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Safaga, and Sharm El-Sheikh.
