Fodor's Expert Review Pyramisa Isis Aswan
Aswan, Aswan, Egypt
On an island in the Nile, with around 30 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this perennially popular hotel has a wonderful location, spacious rooms, a choice of restaurants, and two terraces (one for sunrise, the other for sunset). An organic vegetable garden on the grounds supplies the hotel's restaurants. The spa's "sand bath" treatment reinforces Aswan's fame for this rheumatism treatment, while in winter birders come hoping to catch sight of migratory species. The carpeted rooms are done up in homey apricot-toned fabrics, and the ample private balconies make guests feel as if the Nile view is theirs alone. This hotel is not to be confused with the Pyramisa Isis Corniche Hotel, which is in Aswan.
