When to Go

Alexandria's peak season is summer, when Egyptians flee here for the refreshing Mediterranean breezes. Hotels are also busy on weekends. Off-season, Alex is spectacular, as the city settles back into its natural, relaxed rhythm. It rains more here than anywhere in Egypt. Winter is chilly and sometimes windy, which can be a pleasant break from Cairo's annual 360 days of sunshine.
