All four- and five-star hotels should have a doctor on call, and should you feel unwell at your hotel your concierge should be your first call. If you are taken ill or have an accident while touring, the emergency numbers below will link you to the appropriate services. There are several general and specialist hospitals in Alexandria that will be able to treat a wide variety of health problems. For specialist treatment, you may need to transfer to facilities in Cairo. Most doctors and dentists will speak English. Qualified pharmacists will be able to offer advice on remedies for common ailments such as stomach bugs or sunburn.
