Psychedelic Illuminations Blanket San Francisco’s Conservatory of Flowers

SF

In spite of ever-changing demographics, the city of San Francisco can’t shrug its reputation as a city of tree-hugging hippies. In that spirit, the Conservatory of Flowers is celebrating the city’s 50th anniversary of its iconic Summer of Love by transforming into a psychedelic art piece.

The display will include projected images inspired in part by the flower children who, in 1967, descended upon San Francisco’s Haight-Asbury neighborhood in the spirit of peace and love. The images are also a nod to the Conservatory’s incredible rare tropical flowers housed within. The stark white 138-year old building will be illuminated in full color to fete San Francisco’s vibrant past.

The free display runs nightly from June 21 to October 21.
