Instagram’s New ‘Save to Profile’ Feature Is a Traveler’s Best Friend

instagram

Today, Instagram unveiled a new feature: you can now save photos from Instagram directly to your profile in a private gallery. This new feature will take travel inspiration to a whole new level.

How it works:

On your profile, you'll notice a new tab at the top right with a “bookmark” icon. The tab takes you to a private gallery of saved photos. Any post you can see scrolling through your feed, on the explore page, or by searching now has a “bookmark” icon in the lower right corner. Click that icon and it will be saved to your gallery—don't worry, you’re the only one who will be able to see what's in your gallery.

Why it's great for travel:

Is your phone’s photo gallery (like mine) full of screenshots of places you want to go, things you want to eat, and hotels you want to visit? If you're like me, you get a lot of travel inspiration from Instagram. Now, instead of screenshotting something you'd like to remember or return to later, you can simply save it to your gallery, collecting all of your travel inspo in one place. That way, when it comes time to finding a hotel or a good place to eat, you don't have to go searching through posts trying to remember where you saw that perfect hotel pool or acai bowl—everything will be in your gallery. There's just one major drawback: in order to see the gallery, you have to be online (either connected to wifi or using data).
