Mount Bohemia Nordic Spa

WHERE: Michigan

Nordic spas are designed to rejuvenate your body and mind using hot and cold water exposure, followed by a relaxation period. The Mount Bohemia Nordic Spa is located at a ski resort and offers a eucalyptus steam cabin, Finnish sauna, the largest outdoor hot tub in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, and an outdoor hot pool.

It is recommended that guests spend 15 minutes in a hot area, 5 to 30 seconds in the cold pool and Nordic Waterfall, and 10 to 15 minutes at the Log Cabin Bar or outdoor fire pit. The Log Cabin Bar serves drinks and wood-fired pizza. A day pass costs $20 and a winter season pass is only $49.

Salt Spa St. Augustine

WHERE: Florida

Inspired by the Wieliczka salt mine in Poland, Salt Spa St. Augustine is the first 5-star halotherapy (salt therapy) health resort in Florida. The salt cave is a dimly lit room set to exactly 69˚F and filled with 25,000 pounds of Himalayan crystal salt. A single session is $36 and lasts 45 minutes.

Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa

Located an hour northwest of Santa Fe, the Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs Resort & Spa features natural hot springs full of mineral water, open year-round in a rugged outdoor setting. There are several pools to choose from, varying in temperature from 98˚F. to 105˚F.

The mud pool is the main attraction and features a mud fountain. Guests are encouraged to “bake” in the mud before rinsing. Guests can purchase a day soaking pass that includes access to communal thermal pools and saltwater swimming pool from 10 am to 10 pm daily for $45 on Mondays through Thursdays and $65 on weekends and holidays.
