9 Los Angeles Restaurants to BYOB

You can find Max Karaoke Studio in 3 different places throughout LA: Little Tokyo,  (Downtown), West LA (Sawtelle), and South LA (Torrance). Book a private room and get as loud as you want with your friends for $5 per person per hour. Your room includes large couches, two microphones, an extensive collection of karaoke hits, and a table for all the food and alcohol you’re allowed to bring from outside. Cases of beer, bottles of liquor, champagne, wine, you name it–it’s allowed!

If Jamaican jerk chicken, coconut fried chicken, fried sweet plantains, and other Caribbean cuisine get your drinking glands going, check out Cha Cha Chicken. Nestled in the corner of Ocean Ave. and Pico Blvd in Santa Monica, Cha Cha is one of those spots where you can knock back a few cold ones while you wait for your food. You’ll probably want to drink a few more to cool the heat from that spicy jerk sauce, then have a few more before you head out on the town.

The holy trinity of foods: tacos, beer, and tacos. There are 4 different locations to experience Pinches Tacos: West Hollywood, Westwood, Santa Monica, and Culver City, but you can only BYOB at the West Hollywood location.  You could probably make this the starting point of your night out in WeHo, because we could all use more tacos in our pregame.

There’s an emphasis on delicious Eastern European cuisine at Doma Kitchen. Everything here is made from scratch (even the ketchup!).  There’s a liquor store next door where you can grab your beer and/or wine and an AMC theater across the street to catch a movie later.

This restaurant only allows wine, but you can use that to your advantage—have date night at Masa of Echo Park. Their specialty, the deep-dish Chicago-style pizza, typically takes 45 minutes to come out the oven. That gives you both 45 minutes to stir up your appetites with wine and conversation. When the pizza is out, begin to chow down and giggle together at how much cheese is oozing off of your pizza. There is no corkage fee for the first two bottles of wine, but $15 thereafter.

You can only bring wine to this fancy burger joint in Hermosa or Redondo Beach, and there’s a $10 corkage fee per bottle. If you plan your night accordingly, you might catch a mini-concert on the indoor stage.

Stuft Pizza is a small pizzeria in El Segundo (where LAX airport is located)–just a 5-minute drive from the beach, which means you can BYOB at Stuft Pizza and bring your leftover beer/wine/pizza to Dockweiler Beach.

Good Girl Dinette is a one-of-a-kind Vietnamese fusion restaurant serving Vietnamese comfort food. Grab your Bahn Mi in one hand and your beer in the other, because this place is cool with that.

Hanging with your vegan friends? Bring your wine and/or beer to Flore Vegan to pair with your cashew cheese and kimchi quesadilla. Alas, you can finally suggest a meat-free restaurant actually worth going to (seriously – this place really good!).
