There’s nothing quite like driving out to the countryside and away from the light pollutionto for a romantic couple of hours gazing up at the star-filled night sky. Well, except for spending a night in your own mobile hotel room in the Arctic wilderness under the magnificent glow of the Aurora Borealis.
The experience, which Off the Map Travel calls “The Aurora Bubble,” is part of a four-day package in Finland (priced at £1099) that includes private transport from Tromso, activities like Northern Lights hunting, use of an outdoor hot tub and sauna, and a night in the “Bubble.” After a brief introduction to the Northern Lights, couples will be taken out into the Finnish wilderness via snowmobile where they’ll be outfitted beanbags, reindeer skins, and a sleeping kit and be able to enjoy the aurora from the cozy refuge of the thermostat-controlled heating system of the Bubble.
