It’s another week of #NotBadNews and we’re kicking it off with a holy water squirt gun and a Brooklyn stoop-wedding.
Welcome to #NotBadNews, our new (and hopefully short-lived) daily column where we round up the good, surprising, and weird things that have happened around the world during this coronavirus pandemic.
Brooklyn’s Newest Drive-Through
Looking for quick window service and something delicious, this New York neighborhood has you covered. This fried-onion burger chef is whipping us the popular dish in his backyard and delivering it to hungry neighbors via this inventive window-delivery slide.
My friend was doing his famous fried onion burger “burger slide” pickups today in BK. Sold out so fast! You come at a designated time and your burger comes fresh off his backyard grill! It’s everything I love about NY… pic.twitter.com/EGr0VyueA5

We’ll take two burgers by slide, please!
And on a Different Brooklyn Stoop
While one Brooklyn apartment is housing a burger restaurant, this one is playing wedding-venue. Elaine Welteroth, former editor-in-chief at Teen Vogue, best-selling author, and Project Runway judge (otherwise known as an icon) wasn’t going to let coronavirus stop her from marrying her dearly beloved. The two scrapped initial wedding plans and made-do, hosting a Brooklyn stoop-wedding.
The event was equal parts glamourous, whimsical, and CDC safe.

This bride, groom, and party are making us seriously reconsider our “masks aren’t fashionable” stance.

These forts will keep your child busy and entertained for a few days at least, plus it gives them their own space in the house. Dec out with string lights and blankets and they’ve got their own home away-from (but still inside) home.
Kate Beckinsale’s Salon Takeover
The actress-turned-stylist headed off to her kitchen-island-turned-salon chair to give her newest client a makeover. Wrapping her cat in a towel and pulling out the comb and scissors, she gave her pet a quick trim. Judging by the cat’s calmness, this can’t be a first.

Maybe she’s lost it, or maybe, just maybe, she’s a visionary. Either way, she’s beating Chris Evan’s at his pet-grooming game.
A New Way to Receive Your Blessing
While virtual services might be the best option for regular mass-attendees at the moment, this priest is offering a way for them to receive an in-person blessing–via squirt gun. Loading his guns full of holy water, one priest has found how to give a social-distanced blessing.

Even when mass starts back up, would it be okay for us to keep this practice?
