Two of Our Favorite European Destinations Are Crazy Cheap Right Now

Tackle two cities on the Go List for around $300 each, round trip.

Every year, the fine folks at Fodor’s Travel (that’s us) put together a Go List of 52 destinations that belong at the top of everyone’s travel to do list for 2019. It’s given us a serious case of wanderlust. The cure? Super cheap roundtrip tickets to two Go List destinations. Right now (like for the next 24 hours) you can fly to Berlin, Germany or Oslo, Norway for around $300 roundtrip.

What Makes This Such A Great Time to Go?

We’re so glad you asked. In a time when exclusivity is making headlines, Berlin in 2019 is a mecca of inclusivity where old meets new. Among the stunning architecture of  the old world and residents who remember the wall, you’ll find thriving immigrant communities, pockets of hipsterdom, and post-modern art. It’s a great place to travel back in time during the day and party all night, or try the reverse in a land of few judgments.

For something completely different, head to Oslo. This city has a serious case of cultural renaissance and has been breaking out in chic neighborhoods (be sure to hit up Grünerløkka), cool art galleries, funky clothing shops and haute cuisine (and plenty of viking ships, Aquavit, trolls and fjords). And, if you head there now, you can fully enjoy this quirky city before a trending catch phrase brings a major tourist wave.

Where Will I Stay?

We’ve got you covered. For a trip to a city where old meets new, our Editorial Director (and resident Berlinophile) suggests that you pick a camp: “Book a room at The Adlon Kempinski for old-school luxury, or the Michelberger Hotel for new-school romance.”

In Oslo, we recommend a pair of painfully cool digs. The Thief: haute with a hefty price tag it features cool outdoor spaces, access to the city beach and a killer brunch. For something a little more laid back, try the Hotel Christiana Teater a cozy boutique hotel with a stunning wine bar nestled in the city center.
