Vaughn Stafford Gray

Vaughn Stafford Gray (VSG) was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and has been fortunate enough to also call Toronto, Ontario, and Halifax, Nova Scotia, home. He's been a freelance writer for two decades. During that time, he's also been: a chef; head of client experience for luxury retailers; in charge of marketing and audience engagement for a notable Canadian publication; founding partner of a boutique branding agency; a newsroom journalist; a business school lecturer, and a fundraiser for the arts. He's edited annual reports for Fortune 500 companies and charities, created SEO-optimized content for independent and large-scale retailers, and written copy for some of the world's biggest beverage brands. VSG can effortlessly transform technical jargon into a narrative that general audiences can understand. He's hosted and participated in panels discussing sustainability, fashion, food, music, and gentrification, and is a Caribbean correspondent for the Canadian Broadcasting Commission. He has enjoyed eating his way across the Caribbean, the U.S., and Canada. Though no longer a professional chef, he doesn't regret one minute of culinary school. His byline has appeared in The Atlantic, Saveur, Smithsonian magazine, Food & Wine, the Jamaica Observer, Parkite Sports, The Coast, NOW Toronto, Caribbean Beat magazine, and on canada.com, StyleCaster, and Lifehacker. He majored in English at university with double minors in Philosophy and Gender studies. Having a syndicated travel column will remain a hallmark of his career.
