Tharik Hussain is the author of The Baillie Gifford Prize nominated book, Minarets in the Mountains: a Journey into Muslim Europe. He is also the author of several guidebooks for Lonely Planet including Thailand and Saudi Arabia. Tharik specialises in global Muslim heritage and culture and has written for The Guardian, BBC, Aljazeera, The Telegraph and National Geographic Traveller amongst others. He has also produced award-winning radio for the BBC World Service called: America's Mosques; a Story of Integration and is a Fellow at the Centre for Religion and Heritage at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
