Samantha Linnett

Samantha is a travel planner and content creator. Through travel writing, photography, blogging, and trip planning, she shares her experiences connecting with places and people all over the world and works to help others have those experiences for themselves. She also owns a local government consulting business, where she travels across the United States helping cities and counties better serve their residents. Samantha practices social impact travel, exploring and supporting local communities, economies, and ecosystems in mindful and respectful ways. She believes that travel can change the world. She feels that if we experience a breadth of places, cultures, and people so different but also so similar to ourselves, we can create improved human connection, sustainability, and empathy. Samantha grew up in a very small, rural town just outside of Saratoga Springs, New York. She took her first international trip at age 16 to Italy and Spain and became obsessed with seeing the world. Since then, she has studied abroad in Israel, traveled around the United States for work, and fallen in love with Thailand. Samantha currently lives in Washington, DC with her fiancé and three rambunctious cats, soaking up some sunshine after spending eight years falling in love with a very snowy Syracuse, New York. You can find her writing and travel recommendations on Discover with Sam, Fodor’s Travel, Trusted Travel Girl, and Best Life Online. Samantha has been travel blogging since 2013, when she started her first blog as a hobby during her undergraduate studies. She has been working in the public sector with cities and federal agencies since 2016. Samantha has her Master’s in Public Administration and Bachelor’s in Public Relations from Syracuse University.
