Rachel Jorgensen
Rachel Jorgensen is a freelance travel and outdoor writer currently based in Traverse City, Michigan. Rachel has a professional background as a writer in the hospitality and outdoor industries. As a freelancer, her writing has appeared in several outlets including TravelStoke, backcountry.com, Outdoor Sports Guide Magazine, and more. Before pursuing writing professionally, Rachel was a cellist and traveled all over the US, Europe, and parts of Africa for performances with ensembles and orchestras. After being able to see so much of the world through performing, Rachel decided to live abroad and fully immerse herself in different areas instead of simply passing through. She first moved to Shenzhen, China, then Hong Kong, and then a small island in Thailand before moving back to the US to pursue a career in writing. When she’s settled, you can find her climbing, skiing, or trail running with Scuba, her little Thai pup in tow.
