Qin Xie

Qin Xie is a journalist and editor with more than a decade of experience writing about food and travel. Her work has appeared in National Geographic Travel, CNN, Travel + Leisure, The Times, Conde Nast Traveller and countless other publications around the world. As well as freelance writing, she has been a travel editor at The Independent, The Sun and Metro in the UK. She also co-authored the Hunan cookbook (Random House, 2014), was short-listed for Louis Roederer’s Food & Wine Writer of the Year in 2016 and led the team at The Independent when it won Online Consumer Publication of the Year 2020 at the Travel Media Awards. Qin, who graduated with a degree in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Bristol in 2008, is currently based in London, but has lived in China (Chengdu), the UK (Leicester, Reading, Bristol), France (Villefranche-sur-Mer) and the US (Orlando) and regularly travels on assignment.
