Melissa Banigan is a New York-based freelance journalist who has written for CNN Travel, BBC Travel, and NPR, among many other publications. She's also an Associate Editor at Hippo Thinks, a content writing company that creates and places bylined articles by thought leaders in publications such as Forbes, Quartz, and TechCrunch, as well as the Founder and CEO of Advice Project Media, a nonprofit that offers journalism training and documentary filmmaking classes to youth and women around the world.
