Karl Cushing
A seasoned travel writer with more than 15 years of experience under his belt, Karl’s previous staff roles include a three-year stint as Features and Supplements Editor on the magazine Travel Weekly. Now freelance, when not writing for Fodor’s he submits articles to outlets ranging from National Geographic Traveller, The Travel Magazine and The Independent newspaper to Cruise Adviser, TTG magazine and Selling Travel. Karl's main interests when travelling include sustainability, gastronomy and wildlife photography, especially in Africa, and as a big fan of active travel he loves nothing more than disappearing on impromptu hiking trips and bike tours. Currently based in London, England his previous bases include Tokyo, Japan where he spent three years expanding his waistline.
