Julie Olum

Julie O is a nomad, writer, model and lover of festivals and dancing from Nairobi, Kenya. She's currently pursuing a nomadic lifestyle, spending her time making digital content on YouTube and her blog FrameAmbition.com as well as writing for various publications as a freelancer. A graduate with a Bachelor’s in architecture, her written work has been published by the likes of Horizon Guides, Ministry of Tomorrow magazine and Google’s Touring Bird. Her travel writing career started by accident while still in university in Port Elizabeth, South Africa and looking for a part-time job. With the extra money and remote working set-up she planned her first solo trip to France, Italy and Spain one summer, kept writing and moved to Cape Town after her graduation determined to make writing and travel key parts of her life. Five years on from that innocent online job hunt and so far, so good. She is now based back home in Nairobi for part of the year and traverses the world – mainly the Global South - the rest of the time, seeking out cultural links and similarities to bring to light from a new perspective.
