Danielle Bauter

Danielle Bauter

Danielle Bauter is a freelance travel writer based in Southern California, and her work has appeared in both print and digital publications including Lonely Planet, Budget Travel, Wine Enthusiast, Saveur, and Atlas Obscura. She was the books columnist for the now-shuttered COAST Magazine and contributed to their travel section as well. Danielle graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor's degree in German, which stoked her passion for languages and exploring other cultures. Prior to her career as a freelance writer, she coordinated marketing and events for an independent bookstore and also owned a company that specialized in bookkeeping and payroll services for small businesses. An avid solo traveler, she enjoys writing about food, wine, and off-the-beaten-path destinations. In her spare time, you'll find her playing tennis or hiking the trails near her home.
