Chris Atkin

Chris Atkin is a freelance writer with an insatiable wanderlust. Always seeking the road less traveled, he has written for numerous publications including The Times, Huffington Post, and GoNOMAD. Chris has traveled to more than 50 countries across the globe, but his favourite remains Colombia. He’s eager to discover if any of the countries at the top of his wish list - namely Mexico, Nepal and Japan will be able to claim top spot. Chris’ debut book '(Just As Well) It’s Not About The Bike' is due out in the spring of 2021. It describes his 1,300km cycle from Valencia in Spain to the British outpost of Gibraltar and examines the fascinating history of one of the world’s most popular coastlines. Before embarking on his latest adventure in the US, Chris lived in Cambridge in the UK, where he was responsible for digital marketing at the artificial intelligence start-up company Fetch.ai. Prior to this, he spent five months honing his Spanish while working as the social media manager at Panama’s largest language school. He also has five years’ broadcasting experience at Sky News and BT Sport in London.
