Bani Amor
Bani Amor is a gender/queer travel writer who explores the relationships between race, place, and power. Their work has appeared in CNN Travel, Fodor’s, AFAR, Teen Vogue, Eater, YES! Magazine, and Nowhere Magazine, as well as in Outside the XY: Queer Black and Brown Masculinity, and the upcoming Where We Stand: Brown and Black Voices Speak the Earth. They began traveling and writing about it in their teen years and began pursuing it professionally in 2011, and they’ve lived in Montreal, Canada; Quito, Ecuador; Queens, New York, and Orlando, Florida (guess which one sucked). In 2016, Bani started the POC Travel Book Club which is evolving into a podcast featuring discussions with travel authors of color, and they are writing, producing, and hosting the radical travel show Everywhere All The Time with the multiple Emmy-winning Bruno Brothers. They’ve spoken on panels at the Brooklyn Museum, Travel Con 2019, Comic Con 2016, and the Queens Book Festival, and have been a guest on NPR, Sirius FM’s Progressive Talk, Popaganda, Racist Sandwich, and DisVisibility.
