This Gigantic Sculpture Will Literally Frame Dubai

In its artistic renderings, the soon-to-be complete Dubai Frame monument seems to glisten over the metropolis.

Standing tall above Zabeel Park, the sculpture’s magnitude is impressive. On one side, it frames new Dubai, with such quintessential landmarks as Emirates Towers and Burj Khalifa. Through the other side visitors can glimpse older parts of the city: Deira, Umm Harare, and Karama.

Touted as the “world’s best new attraction” the Dubai Frame measures 150 meters high and 93 meters wide. Connecting the two sides will be a bridge with a 25-square-meter glass panel in the center. Designed by award-winning Fernando Donis (also responsible for the Dubai Porsche Design Towers and the Dubai Renaissance Tower) the sculpture will feature a museum on its bottom floor, which tells the story of Dubai’s evolution from fishing village to thriving city. The frame cost around Dhs160 million to build. Stay up to date and purchase tickets here when they become available.
