Celebrity Beyond

Every cabin on board Celebrity Beyond is beautifully designed and decorated, and most feature a king-sized bed. The accommodations on this ship are comfortable and classy in equal measure, and will make cruisers feel like they are living in an upscale, big city apartment while at sea. There are interior, oceanview, balcony, and Infinite Veranda staterooms to choose from, representing the widest variety of staterooms in the Celebrity fleet. The Infinite Veranda is poised to reshape the industry. Instead of a traditional outdoor space for a balcony, an ingenious indoor patio, reminiscent of a sunroom, lies just beyond folding glass doors. With the doors open, the room feels more spacious, though the best part may just be the on-demand outdoor balcony—made possible by opening the floor-to-ceiling window. 

Solo travelers can select a 184 square-foot Edge single stateroom, which includes 42 square feet via the Infinite Veranda. Connecting staterooms are an option for those traveling in large families or groups, while Aqua Class and Retreat Level cabins and suites enjoy exclusive access to private restaurants, lounges, pools, hot tubs, and the spa’s Thermal Suites. AquaClass staterooms, more than 240 square feet—are huge by cruise ship standards, and bathrooms, which are generously sized as well, feature a two-person soaking tub.

Celebrity continues to go above and beyond for guests with mobility issues and other disabilities. Beyond has accessible staterooms with a five-foot turning radius and wider doors for easier entry in wheelchairs or mobility scooters, roll-in showers with grab bars, a lower sink and vanity, higher toilet, and thresholds that are ramped. Celebrity’s commitment to delivering elegant vacations at sea to every traveler extends to the pier during embarkation, and with autism-friendly initiatives, including sensory-friendly films and toys, menus to appease every dietary need or restriction, sign language interpreting services, and TTY systems. In addition, service animals are welcome on board.

From restaurants, cafés, bars, and lounges, there are a grand total of 32 food and beverage destinations and experiences on Beyond. This means that even if you’re on board for well over a week, you won’t ever get bored of the food and drink during a cruise. The brightest new star in the Celebrity sky is Le Voyage, renowned chef Daniel Boulud’s first foray into dining at sea. This specialty restaurant is housed in an intimate space decorated in muted tones, with real candles flickering on each table, and features an inventive yet accessible menu spanning the globe. The food is divine, with standout dishes being the peanut tamarin Thai green curry shrimp, lobster risotto, and, for dessert, fresh, warm, powdered sugar-dusted madeleines. The four main dining rooms (Tuscan, Cyprus, Normandie, and Cosmopolitan) are each uniquely designed and decorated, with dramatic artwork, vibrant furniture, and eye-catching lighting. Say goodbye to the tired main dining room (MDR) format here, because each of these complimentary restaurants feature globally inspired menus with three distinct parts: everyday standards, a rotating daily menu across all four main dining rooms, and signature dishes on restaurant-specific menus that highlight cuisine from each region these rooms represent (Italy, the Mediterranean, France, NYC, respectively). The food and service are so good, you’ll think you’re dining in a Michelin-starred restaurant.

The Oceanview Cafe has what is, simply put, the best buffet at sea, with high-quality dishes, delicious made-to-order breakfasts from overnight oats to omelets with an array of ingredient choices, and floor-to-ceiling windows on the inside and outdoor seating out back with sweeping sea views. 

Two exclusive dining destinations are on board, for AquaClass (Blu) and Retreat level guests (Luminae), serving three meals a day from an ambitious, haute cuisine menu that changes daily. There are more specialty dining options on board, too (Raw on Five seafood, a steakhouse, Eden’s inventive garden-inspired menu, and more). Still, between the diversity of the complimentary main dining rooms, the tasty burgers and fries at The Mast Grill, and the always on-point buffet, there may be no real need to spend extra dollars on food on Beyond.

Non-premium beers, spirits, cocktails, liqueurs, frozen drinks, and wines by the glass, plus sodas, juices, specialty coffees, teas, and bottled water are part of the cruise experience. Be sure to enjoy a cocktail at the Aft, worth it to check out the stunning design alone. 

Sunset Bar is best during sunset, but the drinks are pretty good too. 

The Martini Bar, located in the center of the ship, is the showpiece, featuring live music, inviting lounge chairs, and affable bartenders. 

The Magic Carpet, a bright orange outdoor space that hangs off the side of ship above the sea, is the most unique place to for a beer or glass of wine. It has 270-degree ocean views enjoyed from cushioned seating and a bar. The Craft Social Bar, serving craft beer selections, wine, and comfort food small bites, in a den-like room is where to catch the “big game.” 

The Theater on Celebrity Beyond is an eye-popping space with a 20-foot-tall 4K LED screen that makes stunning use of 17 million pixels, 110 feet curvature around the stage, and immersive new floor projection technology. The entertainment on Beyond is perfectly suited to such a magnificent venue. 

“Arte” is a high-energy musical and acrobatic stage performance bringing to life iconic works of art such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Monet’s Water Lillies, but “Stage Door” is the real theatrical triumph on Beyond. In it, an enormous ensemble cast of singers and dancers perform a suite of Broadway tunes and rock-n-roll classics on stage, while on the massive 4K screen, a full symphony orchestra roars the show to life. Their performance was pre-recorded in the famed London Palladium, but the way its audio and visuals are incorporated into the live show is both innovative and mesmerizing.

The Club is a two-story space for dancing to ’80s tunes and swinging with Sinatra at night, and playing trivia (including Captain Kate’s Bug Naked cat trivia) during the day. 

Finally, the prettiest room at sea: Eden. During the day, this is a calm, natural wonderland for reading a book but at night, a myriad of musical, acrobatic, and theatrical performances are staged. This room, very much alive already thanks to thousands of plants growing out of the walls and raining down from the roof, comes to life with acrobatic dance, live music, smoke, and lighting tricks that will dazzle guests.

Adults will find serenity inside the Solarium, a peaceful area with a pool, two hot tubs, plenty of deck chairs (including two-person lounger beds with individual adjustable backs), but the spa on board Celebrity Beyond is where the real relaxation happens. There are high-tech treatments like Spa Wave MLW Amphibia, for example, and the classics such as massages, facials, nail care, and more, but the SPA Thermal Suites (complimentary for Aqua Class guests) is a spot to unwind far away from it all. With eight nature-inspired therapeutic experiences, from a Turkish steam room to heated tile loungers overlooking the sea, guests will want to spend a portion of every day unwinding in here. 

If a workout is better for you than a wind-down, Beyond has a complete complimentary fitness center, as well as F45 classes, HIIT, Peloton bikes, LIT Bungee, cardio boxing, and more classes to help you burn off all the second desserts you’ll be enjoying at dinner. Finally, the best walking/running track at sea takes guests around the ship in a loose, outdoor figure eight path that has two-deck’s worth of elevation.
