Well I am so glad I drilled down into the GCNP website and realized now that there isn't bus service from Tusayan until Summer.
Nor is there bus service (the Blue Line) from the Visitor Center to the Village - a 4 mile round trip walk. My 70 year old husband will probably balk at that. So, three questions (with a section of the map for reference)
1) Would it be wise to head right for the Parking Lot "C" in the Village and
2) can you drive there via Center Road from 64? and
3) the map shows picnic table symbol for the Village, any hints on where they might be?

When were you planning to visit the South Rim? The Blue Route will be operating sometime after May29, 2021. The east entrance is now open if you want to visit Desert View.

I would not count on being able to park in any specific lot, and there are many more spaces available at Lots 1-4.
