Boutique Hotel in Rome

Hi all,

We are looking for a nice boutique hotel in Rome for a couple of nights in the $300/night range. Somewhere in central historical Rome -- between the Spanish Steps - Piazza Navona - Trevi Fountain.

I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thank you!

Albrego del Senato is an old fav, across from the Patheon with a lovely rooftop restaurant where breakfast is served, you can also grab a drink in the evenings. We haven’t been since pre Covid, but it is still well reviewed. Not sure when you plan to be there, but prices can be upwards of €300/night depending on your dates. But well worth every penny, or cent, IMO.

$300 isn't going to get you far these days. That's more like TJMaxx rather than boutique. Prices are much higher than just a few years ago. I was going to suggest La Lunetta, but I see it's now over €500 a night.

La Lunetta used to be my favourite budget hotel. It's on a nice little piazza near Campo de' Fiori. It's one of the oldest hotels in Rome. Then they closed it for over a year, completely restructured it, and reopened as a boutique hotel.

I wouldn't call Albergo del Senato a boutique hotel.
It's a large 3-star hotel, quite popular, and in a good location. It's more in your price range, though.

You might want to try Crossing Corso near the Spanish Steps.

Journey On!

I agree that rates have soared in the last 5 years... I recently read a travel blog that mentioned Navona Grand Suite which would seem to come close to your budget and location (Via dei Portoghesi). Very good reviews on Booking. No breakfast.

We enjoyed our stay at the Palazzo Navona Hotel.

Sheesh! You are right; $300 buys nothing. Upward we go!

That's not a hotel. When someone's looking for a boutique hotel, they want to be pampered, not to make their own beds or clean the hair out of the sink.

Our friends enjoyed staying at 15 Keys in Monti last fall. Quick look on Booking.com showed a double room breakfast included for CAD $492.00 which is about $360.00 US. Check the Mr. and Mrs. Smith website, they have a few different boutique hotels in Rome that look good.
Or Google Boutique Hotels in Rome - the Telegraph had a current "best boutique hotels in Rome" list.

We stayed in Rome Style Hotel (booked on Expedia I think) about 5-6 years ago and found it very good - not far from Spanish Steps. Admittedly, we found it expensive but at the time breakfast was included (really nice!) and great location for walking everywhere. I'm pretty sure it was just over 300 euros a night back then. Good luck with your search

Booked Hotel Locarno. (This is for my daughter in her late 20s.) I will circle back with her short review mid-summer for future readers.

Thanks again!
