Aug 2024 roadtrip recommendations
Me and my fam (16m, 16f, 48m, 47f) want to go on a roadtrip in the summer.
We are thinking about going to the Midwest (Ohio ind and Chicago) or down the east coast (Baltimore, Wiliamsburg, Norfolk, Richmond, Charleston, and/or Charlotte
We like amusement parks, the women like shopping, and we are interested in sci and tech + other museums. we all like good food
We would like to see a sports game while we're there
2 weeks off from work, would like to spend 8-11 days traveling, we went to Toronto and Montreal before so long driving distances are fine
We want to go to charlotte for Carowinds and lake Norman as Iv been recommended
Iv also been recommended a duck tour in Baltimore? Have no idea what it is tho
What would yall recommend? If anyone could make an itinerary for both that would be greatly appreciated
also what hotels should I stay at and where’s the best place to find deals

Hello and welcome to Fodors! Please let us know where this road trip will begin. For the mid-west it is hard to beat Cedar Point on the shore of Lake Erie west of Cleveland. Continue east to Cleveland for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and maybe a baseball game.
For Pennsylvania I like Knobel's Grove near Elysburg and Hersheypark in beautiful Hershey. For a little bit of history, be sure to visit Gettysburg. There are many other great places to visit which others will tell you about.
