Taiwan or New Zealand for 10-12 days?

Taiwan or New Zealand for 10-12 days?
I was curious between the 2 places. My budget is $6,000. I mainly want to do a mix of city and outdoor experiences.
Interests are outdoors, nightlife is a plus but not totally essential, I also enjoy being in new cities.
I’ve never been to East Asia, so it would be a new cultural experience. The city of Taipei seems super cool. I’ve also heard New Zealand is incredibly beautiful and there would be less of a language barrier.
If I did New Zealand I would just pick the north or south island.
If I did Taiwan I could see a lot of it.
I’ll be traveling solo and I’m in my early 20s. Looking to do a mix of hostels and hotels.
Any advice on how to choose my locations is appreciated

I'm not sure about Taiwan. In NZ, this is absolutely peak travel time. Accommodation may be hard to come by - and there may be minimum day requirements.
If net week, you may have to see what you can find in NZ.
