Bruges Dinner on Sundays

Need recommendations for restaurants in Bruges open on Sundays, that'll be our arrival day will take train directly from Brussels to Bruges, check in Historic Center room, and walk to an early dinner. We were liking what we read about DeGastro, only to find out it'll be closed the end of September when we arrive. Recommendations please for simple fare, we will be in the city for five nights before returning to Brussels for the weekend and then go on to France. Several of the "menus" list only two or three options at fixed prices for 3-course meal. While The Fork site is in English with its reviews, the menus are in Belgian. My husband will be happy with mussels, I would like something light and definitely not anything fried, other seafood fine.

From memory there are several brasserie -type restaurants in the centre of Bruges all of which will offer a range of simple dishes as well as more complex ones. This one seems to fit the bill and is open on Sundays https://www.bistrobrugis.be/menu.html with a menu in all three languages.

This place looks a little more elaborate but it is open all day including Sundays and offers mussels and salads.

I hope you find somewhere you like and enjoy your stay.

I actually had a burger in Bruges.
I enjoyed it very much. They do more than only burgers.

I also enjoyed the Halvemaan brewery and restaurant. However it does not open Sunday pm. What time do you want to eat+/-?

Thanks much. Yes, think we might do the Nieuwe Boeken on Sunday evening, and definitely get to the Halvemaan Brewery another evening after 1800 !

If it’s still there, the truck that sells french fries in the main square was awesome. Try it with mayo! They double fry the potatoes. So much better than in the US.

That is the Dutch/Belgium way.

There are many, many soups available from light to hearty. There are even soup stands. You might like the Leek Soup.
Waterzooi is a light stew with lots of vegetables and fish or chicken, very good.
Heavy and hearty is the beef and beer or sweet and sour stews, great if you are hungry.
Apple tarts are really incredible.
