8 Month in South Pacific

Our first trip with our 8th month was supposed to be in Japan in November. However, it seems unlikely due to the current requirement for guided tours.

We have decided to redirect to the South Pacific. We prefer to just relax, keep our baby entertained, and work around his 3-hour wake windows. We understand this won't be an experience everything trip.

What are your thoughts about 12 days (10 actual days of holiday) in French Polynesia (Moorea/Bora Bora), Cook Islands (Rarotonga/Aitutaki) or Fiji (Mamanuca Islands)?

French Polynesia: Hilton, Sofitel, Intercontinental Resorts in Moorea and Bora Bora

Cook Islands: Pacific Resort Rarotonga and Pacific Resort Aitutaki

Fiji: Six Senses Fiji (found a good deal)

Any advice or guidance much appreciated!

Keep trekking!

I'd suggest changing the title of your thread. It looks like you want to spend 8 months in the South Pacific and are unemployed. Ask the moderator to alter to something like Taking baby to which country in South Pacific?

I know very little about these countries. Fiji would have the most infrastructure I think, medical facilities etc. Cook Islands are more remote and seem harder to get to. French Polynesia has a reputation for being expensive. Check Trip Advisor forums and recent guidebooks for ideas on the islands.

We are in the middle of planning for an Australian trip with our 3 months old baby. Knowing that you are now looking for trip ideas for your 8 months old baby, I think getting something about your experiences travelling with your baby during early months will be helpful to us.
