roadtrip through Norway - questions regarding Geiranger route & more....Please Help!!
For my roadtrip (renting a car, self-drive) - here is what i have planned so far...
For Day 7, i am kind of torn as to which route to take from Geiranger, 6216, Norway to Sogndal ?? -- the Sognefjell route, the Strynefjell route and the Geiranger route.
i am looking for a route with the best scenery ??
which one is considered the Geiranger route (and will i be passing through Jotunheimen National Park along the way or is it a detour) ?
Is this considered the Geiranger route?
"
From: Geiranger 6216, Norway
1) Continue to Fv63 32 s (150 m)
2) Take Rv15 and Fv55 to Rv13 in Sogndalsfjøra
4 hr (233 km)
Arrive: Sogndalsfjøra

Is there a car agency in Sogndal to drop off the car?
You might want to read my trip report on Norway which included 6 days of driving from Bergen to Trondheim.

Scenic enough?

Check on the need to have a transponder. Roads leading to large cities will have an untended toll station a few miles out. I could not figure out how to pay with cash or credit card. I did not notice a transponder on my rental, and sometimes just skirted around the toll station, and never heard about it. But I was driving a Norwegian rental which might come with a transponder or a vignette. New tunnels also charge a toll until their construction is paid off.
Bring a light sleeping bag insert for the times when bedding is provided at an extra cost. This was the case in student housing a Alesund and in cabin rentals such as these:
