So, we booked our airfare, AirBnB and hotel in February (with trip insurance and cancellable til September 9).
We're doing it!
4 nights in Bulle, with trips to Gruyeres, Montreux and Rochers de Naye (?sp).
Then, I put everything away.
BUT, with the US cancelling incoming Covid testing requirements, as of June12, I am happily resuming planning!!!
This is my 16/17th trip to Sw/Germany, so I have already seen most of the highlights.
I am travelling with a first-timer colleague, so I will revisit places and add in a few towns/hikes that are new to me.
SO excited!

AND, I forgot to state 7 nights in an AirBnB in a quiet residential section of Unterseen, for some hiking!
I so hope that the Covid situation remains stable.

That trip up to Rochers-de-Naye and that "toonerville trolley" clinging to the sides of the mountain is absolutely wonderful IMO and I've done it several times. Get a look at all the stuffed animals on the walls inside that cafeteria at the top, too. GREAT fun.

I LOVE Alpabzuege, but I have ONE day left in this area, and have never yet made it to the BROC chocolate tasting (SERIOUS chocoholic here).

Oh my, you must not miss Broc. I love Cailler chocolate, but we seldom visit that part of Switzerland. We need to get back to Gruyeres too.

I'm a chocoholic too and I usually try to fit in a quick trip to Bilten for the Läderach factory. Last year we made it to Camille Bloch and we've visited Lindt a few times. This year I'm trying to work in a visit to the chocolate factory near Lucerne (name escapes me).

Our itinerary include three nights Vals, five nights Sufers, seven nights Thusis, five nights Grimentz, five nights Bellinzona, five nights Chiavenna, Italy, two nights Lucerne and one night Zurich.

It's nice to plan again isn't it?

The lifting of the Covid test requirement to return to the USA is supposedly for 90 days, after which it will be reevaluated. Hoping it’s gone for good. A big weight lifted off my shoulders for our upcoming trip!

wow you ARE an ueberchocoholic! My kinda person.
Hope I get some feedback on Charmey.
In all my trips, I have never yet hit the Caillier factory, bc it felt kinda selfish to use that time. We shall see!

With 4 nights at Bulle, you will certainly have a few hrs for the Broc factory close by.
Rochers de Naye are fine, but Glacier3000 is of easy reach from Bulle too and would offer a more impressive alpine parorama (except lake of Geneva, of course).
The closest viewpoint is the Moleson (rope railway and gondola).
The hiking possibilities between Bulle and Lake Geneva are endless.

Gruyeres, Montreux and Rochers de Naye (?sp).

Love those places. Don't miss the castle at Gruyeres. And I'd add Chillon if you haven't been before in Montreux. And Vevey for the quai and street markets.

What a wonderful, fantastic Swiss trip it's going to be!

Just a word about Moleson. Please be sure to check the transport times. Hopefully things have improved since I was there.... well probably a decade ago...? I remember that the busses took a long lunch break, and I was stuck there for two hours when I was ready to depart. Lol, I considered hitch-hiking!

The buses from Gruyeres railway station run every hr from 8.09 until 17.09. But there is a 20 min layover between bus and rope railway at Moleson village (time for a coffee in the restaurant nearby).

Yes, I will check the Le Moleson transport carefully. This excursion is for ME😁.
I have toured Gruyeres 3x already 🙄, but my friend is a newbie, so.... I always hike up the hill for great surrounding views.
I think we will take a chance on the Charmey Desalpe too.
Starting to get excited!
