Hi. I am a vanlifer and I am having a difficult time trying to find a blanket that keeps me warm at night.

What are the best options? If you have a link, please share.

An example of one I tried recently was Bedsure Sherpa Fleece Throw Blanket on Amazon as seen in the uploaded screenshot.

It looks comfortable and warm but the fluffy white material hardens quickly and it’s just not as warm as it looks. Most department store blankets are useless.

The coldness is impacting my sleep badly. I hope someone can help.

I'd look at REI. I know they sell quilted blankets that are very warm. Their outlet has pretty deep discounts if you are looking for a bargain (assuming so from your thread last year)

Check out the Rumple blanket at REI- has good reviews. Looks comfy. I have not tried myself

How about starting off with flannel sheets? We use a loosely woven cotton blend blanket topped with a quilt on really cold nights.

So, go back to my kids Boy Scout days. A sleeping bag for sure for their camping but a wool blanket inside.

SO I would say either a really good wool blanket or a good sown comforter.

I think that I would come at it from another angle and look at what mountaineers use and then try and find it on eBay or in sales somewhere.

LL Bean has several wool blankets that are very warm. Do be prepared for the cost.

Sometimes they show up at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores.

we have a 70 year old wool army blanket which is a pain to wash but is still fine and very warm.

You can't go wrong with a down duvet and duvet cover.

One advantage to looking at sleeping bags is that they are temperature rated. This one is rated to 20F:

If you go with a sleeping bag, buy a liner too so that the bag doesn't have to be laundered frequently.

If a sleeping bag doesn't appeal, REI also sells down blankets.

But if you go with a down blanket, you should look into adding insulation to your sleeping surface... perhaps with a sheepskin/merino wool mattress topper.

And it may sound odd, but you'll be warmer if you sleep wearing a knit or fleece hat.

Go to a thrift store and buy an old fur coat.

Why not just hit a Goodwill or similar and buy a pile of whatever they have in their blanket section?
