Curlers and blow dryer will they work in Ireland?

I have the Remington travel curlers that say “worldwide voltage” but has anyone used those exact curlers in Ireland and did you need a voltage converter or just an adapter? They are 10 curlers, two different sizes, in a soft pack. Also, would I be better of just buying a blow dryer once I get there? Thanks!!

Welcome to Fodors. If it says world wide voltage . . . it is world wide (dual) voltage. You just need a plug adapter. Do realize that many dual voltage blowdryers/curling irons/etc don't work quite as well when the power is stepped down. It may depend on how thick/long your hair is if the dual voltage ones will be enough. They work fine for me -- I have short hair (though I had a couple of failures over the years when the hairdryer blew all the circuits in the B&B - or once sparked and semi-melted)

If you are going to be in Ireland for a while or have thick hair you might want to buy one there.

. . . and almost all hotels and B&Bs and short term apartments do provide hair dryers (probably to avoid the occasional disasters as mentioned above )

we were posting the same time - you're welcome . . . I would check with your accommodations to see if hair dryers are included.

Look at the label. Does it state 220V or maybe 240V? It should work.

At 220 or 240V it might take longer to heat up. Higher voltage has less resistance which means less heat .
