Airbnb News for France

It's been a while and I hadn't seen discussion recently, but I saw a couple of articles saying that Airbnb is finally (probably due to massive fines) going to make all ads contain rental registration numbers on their website, beginning this month for Paris and I think by end of month for Bordeaux. From what I've read, they already started that for new listings, but now are going to make existing listings comply.

I'll be interested when the govt officials ever make well-known websites like Perfect Paris comply with that, also.

anyway, one article a bit difficult to read

On another note, France is scrapping free COVID tests for tourists due to lack of reciprocity from other countries.

Your information is correct. Airbnb is now only supposed to accept listings with a registration number. As to whether it is an authentic registration number, only time will tell.

Nevertheless, fraudulent posters must be far less enthusiastic than in the past.

That is good news. We do like to choose apartment-type rentals from time to time but don't want to be staying somewhere illegal.

Regarding Paris Perfect mentioned above, every single one we looked at for our extended stay in late 2018 was already registered. We checked 30 different apartments, each registered.

I was pleasantly surprised when looking for Nov we found few without. We are staying in a hotel front part of the trip using a voucher we have had for 1.5 years and an apartment at the end of our journey back into Paris.
