Tips on South Dakota Custer and Badlands

My husband and I are planning a trip to Custer State Park and the Badlands in June. Where is the best use of a 10 day stay? We like nature and hiking. We are starting with a 2 day stay at the State Game Lodge. We were then thinking of spending 2 nights in the Hot Springs and then a few nights in the Badlands. Does this seem reasonable? Any suggestions to help us on the trip planning would be appreciated.

I'm thinking of 2 days at Custer State Park, 2 days at Hot Springs, 2 days at Spearfish and 2 days in Badlands. Should I spend less time in Hot Springs and Spearfish and more time in Badlands?

Are you driving in from the east or the west? While in the area, check out Mt. Rushmore and Wind Cave NP.
