Mallorca Hotel

Hoping everyone is healthy and safe!
We are beginning to plan a trip to Mallorca (and Spain or Portugal) for next Spring. First working on the Mallorca part and would love a hotel recomendation. We would like something on the beach or with a great beach view and easy access to the sand if possible. A few favorite hotels to give you an idea of what we like - Covo dei Saraceni in Positano, La Minerva on Capri and Malliouhana on Anguilla. Not too large and not in the city but also not very isolated. .

From the favourite hotels that you mention, you seem to be looking at the higher end of the cost scale. However, there over 5000 hotels on the island that are 4 or 5 stars. You need therefore to decide which area you'd like to stay in to give us a chance to make some recommendations. As a guide, the journey from the airport to the north coast will take about an hour in a hire car and it's my preferred area to stay, but you really need to do some research. There's so much choice on Mallorca that it makes it virtually impossible to make a recommendation without a bit more info.

I suppose you know that seawater will be rather cold in spring.
One of the best hotels at one of the best beaches is the rather expensvie Hotel Formentor (but be aware that beaches of Mallorca cannot cope with Caribbean beaches)

For places closer to Palma de Mallorca, you may check Magaluf

Thanks so much! Not sure on which part of the island but not Palma and not Magaluf. We do not like total isolation but don’t want to be where it is super crowded. It would be nice to be able to walk to a little town with restaurants but we will be renting a car. A gorgeous beach and a charming town would be nice. Not a fan of mega resorts. I hope that’s helpful.

Maybe have a look at the Jumeirah in Port de Soller or the Residencia in Deia and I'd certainly vote for the Formentor. Avoid Palma Nova and Magaluf like the plague.

The very small stretch of sand in front of the shops and cafes of Port de Soller is nothing to write home about. May be it will still be calm in spring.
The small coves around Deia may be more natural, but not among really good beaches for sure.

The longest sandy beaches of Mallorca are around Colonia San Jordi.

For Mallorcan beaches, you may have a look at https://www.fincallorca.ch/html/straende/
and for hotels at https://www.booking.com
